Could I

Go so far

Past what they said

Was supposed to be right?

Maybe

It’s because

I attended church

And instead of God,

I just found a man.

When

I looked

For the truth,

I only found lies

Dressed in the preacher’s suit.

I

Was told,

I was promised

Deliverance from my nature,

Cleansing of my wicked soul.

And

I was

Delivered from sin,

But for some reason

Everything stayed exactly the same.

That

Does not

Bode well for

Future me and my

View of this terrible world.

How

Could I

Not choose dissent?

Because I simply cannot

Understand why Truth, is true.
